ok, well after miraculously finding this website sue to typing in on google"tips on opening the batting" i have read jacks training log and been quite interested. I am 14 years old, 15 ina month, going into year 11. Currently playing for 2 different under 15 sides, a saturday 2nd XI, sunday games, and under 17s. I'm from leicester by the way so on saturdays play Everards League. I am a batsman, only started cricket properly last season. Don't really have any goals apart from making myself a regular in the second team which i have this season and getting some runs.Played to many games to remember a batting average but i have taken 14 catches this season . batting started off really well, slowed in the middle, picked up again and i feel its slowing again . Don't really have any specific fitness or nutrition plans as im 14 and dont feel it needed. Whenever im batting next in the order i get really nervous and when im out there it takes me quite a few balls to feel comforatable. Im a defensive batsman and for mens bat between 3 and 6, u15s 3 and for the other under 15s 6. Sunday's bat wherever to be honest. I have opened for the mens and u15s as it suits my style but i don't liek it and much prefer 3-6. If im honest i really want to work on my nerves and in a game i tend to push at shots instead of playing them properly and that is because i don't want to get out. I don;t know why i do this as i have more chance of getting out by pushing at it. Also i NEVER run my bat in. get told this so many times, got ran out today partly from it, wouldnt have made it anyway, but i dont really know how i dont, i always think i do. Really pointless thing but thought i would say. I would love some feedback as i said only really second season of proper cricket where ive been taking it seriously. Will do match report stuff after each game. Will do a weekend summary after tomorrows game as im knackered now. Anyway, feedback would be fantastic. Thanks. |
